Deputies checked a vehicle with the mounted radar travelling westbound at 83 miles per hour in a posted 65 mile per hour zone. The Deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle which fled westbound from La Monte at speeds of 120 miles per hour. The vehicle travelled at high rates of speed into Johnson County, where a Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper was set up with stop sticks to attempt to stop the pursuit. Upon seeing the stop sticks, the driver stopped fleeing. Amin Amir, 19, of Whiteman Air Force Base, was arrested. Amin was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in on charge of Resisting Arrest by Fleeing Creating a Substantial Risk, Speeding (26 MPH or More) and Careless and Imprudent Driving.

Tuesday night, Deputies conducted a warrant check in the 300 block of East Saline Street. The warrant had been issued in May of 2024 after an incident in August of 2023. In that initial stop, Officers stopped a silver Jeep Commander in the area of West 15th Street and South Osage Avenue after it failed to maintain the right half of the roadway. After speaking with the driver, Officers noticed his eyes were watery, glassy, and bloodshot. Officers also smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the jeep, and searched the vehicle. A marijuana roach was found in the center dash board area, a baggy of marijuana was found in the glove box, and a bottle of eye drops was found in the center console. After a blood test, the driver was booked in at the Pettis County Jail on charges of Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs) and Driving While Suspended. After the summons was issued in May, the suspect missed his court date in August. Jason D. Homan, 24, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Homan was booked in pending a cash or surety bond of $2500.

Deputies conducted a warrant service at the 100 block of Villa Drive in Sedalia. The warrant was issued after an incident in January of 2024. In that incident, Officers were patrolling around the area of 24th and Grand in Sedalia when they observed a white over brown Dodge pickup truck driving west. When Officers looked at the driver, he looked like a subject that was known to be suspended. Officers turned around on the truck, when the pickup suddenly pulled over to the side of the road. The driver got out of the truck and went to the hood, while the female passenger jumped from the passenger seat to the driver’s seat. Officers spoke to the male driver and confirmed his license was revoked. A criminal summons on the charge was submitted in March of 2024. The suspect missed his court date in August. Deputies found the suspect in the residence, and he was arrested for his Failure to Appear warrant*. Wesley Franken 37, of Sedalia, was arrested on his FTA warrant on charges of Driving While Revoked. Franken was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was held pending a $1500 cash or surety bond.
